Tungsten Carbide Flexible Welding Rope
Flexible braided wire with cast WC and Ni-based self-fluxing alloy for irregular part repair.
This series of tungsten carbide flexible hardfacing wires adopt a nickel core base, uniformly coated with cast tungsten carbide and nickel-based self-fluxing alloy powder via extrusion process.
The hard phase, dominated by high-hardness cast tungsten carbide, features a microhardness of HV0.1 >= 2000 with excellent wear resistance. The nickel-based bonding matrix delivers good wettability and stable forming, producing a dense overlay for long-term erosion and abrasive wear protection.
Available in standard diameters of 4mm, 6mm and 8mm with 15kg spool packaging, it supports customization on carbide type, grain size and wire specifications. Widely applied to mining equipment, oil drilling tools, agricultural machinery, chemical and food processing facilities, it effectively extends component service life and reduces operation & maintenance costs.

Tungsten Carbide Flexible Welding Rope - Grade Selection
3 grades available in this series. Custom particle-size cuts and chemistries available on request.
| Product Grade | Chemical Composition | Manufacturing Process | Hardness (HRC) | Applicable Process | Typical Application |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| NE-WC-R-0460 | Ni based alloy + CTC, 4mm | Braided forming | 58-65 | OFS/CAW | Irregular parts, on-site repair, screw blades, pump impellers |
| NE-WC-R-0660 | Ni based alloy + CTC, 6mm | Braided forming | 58-65 | OFS/CAW | Bucket teeth, crusher hammers, mining chutes, machinery repair |
| NE-WC-R-0860 | Ni based alloy + CTC, 8mm | Braided forming | 58-65 | OFS/CAW | Heavy-duty wear parts, slurry pumps, dredge components hardfacing |
How to Specify & Apply
Identify the Service Envelope
Determine the dominant wear mode (abrasion, erosion, adhesion, corrosion, oxidation), operating temperature and impact load. This narrows the grade selection to 2-3 candidates.
Match the Process
Each grade is validated for specific deposition processes. The "Application Process" field above shows HVOF, HVAF, APS, PTA, LMD, OFS or CAW compatibility.
Choose the Particle Size
Particle size controls deposit density and surface finish. Fine cuts (15-30um) for thin dense coatings; coarser cuts (45-90um) for thick build-up and high deposition rate.
Request a Sample
Most grades ship with a 1-2 kg sample for in-house process qualification. Our engineers will support parameter development on your equipment.
